What Data Is Collected

This is a static website. It does not have user accounts, contact forms, newsletters, or databases. The only data collection occurs through:

  • Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID: G-LE46GCTSM7) — collects anonymised usage data such as pages visited, referral source, browser type, and approximate geographic region. IP addresses are anonymised by default in GA4.

Legal Basis

Analytics data is collected based on your explicit consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). Google Analytics scripts are only loaded after you click "Accept" on the cookie consent banner. If you reject or ignore the banner, no analytics data is collected.

Cookies & Local Storage

Name Type Category Purpose
cookie-consent localStorage Essential Stores your cookie consent choice
theme localStorage Essential Stores your dark/light mode preference
_ga, _ga_* Cookie Analytics Google Analytics — only set after consent

Third-Party Services

  • Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc.) — This site is hosted on Cloudflare Workers. Cloudflare processes visitor IP addresses and request metadata for content delivery, security, and DDoS protection. This processing occurs on every page load and is based on our legitimate interest in securing and delivering the website (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
  • Google Analytics (Google LLC) — Collects anonymised usage data only after you accept cookies. Google acts as a data processor under GDPR. See Google's Privacy Policy.

All fonts are self-hosted. No advertising networks, social media widgets, or tracking pixels are used.

Data Retention

Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months (the GA4 default), after which it is automatically deleted. Local storage entries persist in your browser until you clear them manually.

Your Rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Withdraw consent — click "Reject" on the cookie banner, or clear your browser's local storage to reset your preference.
  • Access — request a copy of any data held about you.
  • Erasure — request deletion of your data.
  • Object — object to processing of your data.
  • Lodge a complaint — with your local data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, contact me via LinkedIn.

International Data Transfers

Both Cloudflare and Google may transfer data to servers outside the European Economic Area. Both rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework as the legal mechanisms for these transfers.
